Athanas

Athanas is amongst the most widely venerated of the ancient and alien Divhidre seen as a font of morality and a path to salvation. Athanas is a divh associated with giving and charity, of learning and philosophy, but he is said to be the embodiment of the Creator's sense of superiority and mastery and the magnanimity that that affords. Athanas is the judge of mortal souls. He waits at the well of souls in the heart of the Shadow World and passes judgement on the deeds of mortal lives and it is he who restores souls to the well, and releases them back to the weft where they form another thread in the pattern of destiny.

Some cults of Athanas (those who venerate the name Tanas, amongst others) think of the divh not as an individual but a place. The well of souls itself. A state of enlightenment that manifests as a physical location that exists in all places yet none. Open only to the truly enlightened. Thanas is the gate to the well - enlightenment itself.
