Bharvarsh Sword

The Bharvarsh Sword is a falchion of roughly four feet in length with a grip long enough to be used two handed but curved so as to run along the wrist when angled forward, making it easier to use from horseback. The blade has two cutting edges and widens and grows heavier toward the tip. It terminates with a crescent shaped axe-like blade, from the rear of which the sword’s own cutting edge is slightly recessed, which the Bharvarsh use to slash across the throat of more heavily armoured enemies, otherwise either the press of their charge or the weight of the weapon are depended upon to inflict real damage. While too heavy to be fast the manuverability of the Bharvarsh cavalry and their consummate skill with the weapon more than make up for its ungainliness. Usually the weapon is wielded one handed from horseback; held back and swung down and forward underarm during a charge, and with two hands held to the side at waist height or over the head and striking from that point when on foot.
