In the Haedrasian Empire Cant is the language of academics, of literature, history, myth, and religion. It is spoken amongst the priests and paladins of the templarate to mark them as distinct from the common man. Cant is descended from the ancestral tongue of the primeval Haedar, spoken when first they were born on the Isle of Men. Completely unlike Low Haedrasian, the tongue of the common citizens and subjects of Haedrasia, and only cursorily similar to the more lofty and formal High Cant, most Haedrasians have a little Cant, but only those who think a great deal of themselves conduct their daily affairs in it.
