Without a doubt the Chratch (tsh-RATH-sh) are the masters of the norrthern wastelands of the Artoza Ibaroa and Etchearte. These mastiff-like monstrosities are lone hunters, a lethal mix of brute force and near unmatched speed they are the bane of travellers through the wastes. Completely blind against the brutal ash storms that wrack the region, they are blindfolded with a hideously stretched flap of skin that makes them all the more unsettling.

Chratch are massive red-grey mastiff-like creatures standing over ten feet tall at the shoulder, and near fifteen feet nose to haunches. Their mouths are unnaturally large, and filled with oversized teeth that jut out awkwardly. These teeth grow for the chratch's entire life, new teeth forcing out their oversized predecessors so that the chratch are particularly careless when hunting or fighting about snapping or even losing teeth. The nose is little more than a skeletal cavity, but it is as sensitive as a bloodhound's. It is said that a chratch can track its prey from leagues away, especially if its quarry is injured. However most remarkable about the chratch is the taught flap of skin stretched across their face where the eyes should be, almost like an in-grown blindfold, rendering them completely blind and reliant on their other senses to navigate and hunt.
