Dark Vision Trait

Many different races walk the face of Allornus, and not all of them inhabit the light of day as men do. Those who live below the ground, or roam the world at night are not so beguiled by all-shrouding darkness as their daytime fellows, and these creatures have the Dark Vision Trait. Characters with dark vision range from being able to see better in the shadows and the night time, to needing absolutely no light to see by at all. The causes for their ability to see might vary, but the upshot is that the character uses his eyes to see (as opposed to sonar, or some other non-vision based sense) in varying levels of low light.

Minor (1)

A character with minor Dark Vision ignores the first die of disadvantage associated with low light, meaning he functions normally in night-time conditions, and other situations when a small volume of light is present.

Intermediate (2)

A character with intermediate Dark Vision ignores the first two dice of disadvantage associated with low light. This means that he functions in darkened rooms and moonless nights completely normally.

Major (3)

A character with major Dark Vision ignores any and all dice of disadvantage associated with low light. He requires no light whatsoever to use his vision. He can still be blinded, dazzled, or have his vision in some other way impeded, but not by darkness.

Quirks

Light Sensitive In bright light the character begins to suffer dice of disadvantage as he would in darkness. This a character with intermediate Dark Vision, and this quirk, would suffer a die of disadvantage to vision tests in a lamplit room, and 2 dice in direct daylight. A character with major Dark Vision and this trait would not be able to see in direct daylight at all.
