Hyd
When first the refugees from Arumthar's collapse came west they took Goblyn lands and made them their own. In some places they found victory, or negotiated treaties with the highly concentrated Goblyns of the Farland. But some men, some of the most desperate, who had grown to hate the Aruman regime, and the Divh that stole their life of wonders for them, were harried brutally by their would-be victims. In the poison-filled forests of Hyd (HIDE) they found respite, and there those few who survived became hard, and vengeful, and ingenious.

Geography

Physical Geography

The rolling prairies of Taurvann give way starkly to the steppes of Hyd. There is something unforgiving, unrelenting about Hyd. To the north, over the Breshan Mountains, Kel Saratose basks in fertile vales and sheltered prairies, and in the west the foothills of the Shoulders of the World rise majestically towards the sky, framed by the eerie wan sunlight of Battlewaite, but in Hyd there is only flatness and greenness, not nearly devoid of live, but somehow as barren as the most blasted desert. The Kayari Steppe, stretching over the whole of Hyd, and down through Kabara and Perapos into northern Usdai, are near featureless, and many travellers find them almost hypnotic. Some men, after a day's travelling, can only tell they have actually moved because the Shoulders loom slightly closer or further on the western horizon.

The Poison Spore

forests infested with toxic shrooms, goblyns wear paired cloth bags below a mask to navigate (that look eerily like sagging mandibles). Men have learned when (and in what direction) to breathe. Keeps hyd's gob-hunters safe from reprisal. Massive insects make their homes here - men use their shells as crude armour.

Political Geography

Split between more than a dozen Shahs, the men of Hyd are so cut off from their kinsmen that they have begun to look more like goblyns than men, and yet making war with the goblyns on their borders, and worse the wandering Org, is what makes the goblyn-hunters of Hyd so famous and feared. They have mastered using the lethal perils of their venomous home to their advantage, and the traps they lure their foes into, and their daring raids have become the stuff of nightmares for their neighbours.
