The last major stop along the Dosa-Rendor highway, Kharpus is a sprawling market town that acts as a centre for nearby farmers to trade surplus with Darkman caravans before they reach the bustling markets of Rendor. The open air produce markets are a bustle of languages, colours and smells, and fruits and exotic northern spices, as well as boar-cat crab meat are all in ready supply, under colourful canvas pagodas and in the backs of farmers wagons.

Conar, Spaspet of Kharpus
Tall, lanky, and especially long-faced, the Landsman Conar is Spaspet of Kharpus, appointed by the Patrician of Rendor himself. With just over a dozen men at his disposal full time, and bandit activity regular on the highway to the north and south of the town, as well as conduct in the markets to oversee, he is stretched thin, and his drooping features and dark-pouched eyes attest to the pressure he is under. When mercenaries do come to town, more often than not they quickly turn to banditry when they have driven away their predecessors, and now Conar has limited his responsibility at the town's limits.
