Geography
Physical Geography
Lodel extends from the Bosots, where they terminate at the Camari Pass, south to the shores of the Inner Sea. In the north the land is mostly wooded foothills, with rolling prairie in the south along the coast, but it lacks the forests of Taal and Kord to the east, and feels exposed. On a clear day a man standing on the southern coast can peer north-west, and see the Bosots rising out of the rolling plains, and feel that he beholds the whole of Lodel before him. Needless to say, the folk of Lodel feel oddly scrutinized in their fields and on their roads, and many settlements are built in shallow valleys or at the edges of forests just to break the immodest line of sight across the domain. Still, there is beauty to be found in the rocky austerity of Lodel, if a visitor is prepared to look closely enough.
Political Geography
Lodel has long been the source of tumult in the basin. The Patricians of Lodel have, for years, devoted their time to testing the borders of their neighbours, and engineering chaos in the unfortunate domains they border, and the current Patrician, Dolremm, is amongst the worst of his predecessors.
Social Geography
Many outsiders believe that life in Lodel must be one of oppression, but the residents differ little from their neighbours, except that their settlements are usually safer and less prone to banditry than others.
Faiths and Worship
The Patricians of Lodel have always been firm devotees of the Old Way, and even before the rule of Dolremm, the Lodeli people followed their Patricians in matters of faith.

Notable Individuals
Dolremm of Lodel
The Patrician of Lodel is the hard-minded, cunning Dolremm. Sober, diplomatic, capable and uncompromising, Dolremm is by far the most influential individual in Lodel, and his influence beyond his borders grows stronger by the day. Where most of the rulers on the northern shores of the Inner Sea are concerned with the internal politics of their lands, Dolremm acquired a stable and strong nation in a bloodless military coup. The former Preceptor of Shaladazar, now Patrician of all Lodel has spent the last eight years reaching outside his own borders, both subtly and with probing force, seemingly with the intention of expanding his borders in the near future. These 'tests' of his neighbours have made those who share Lodel's borders nervous and wary, though Dolremm has never made any concerted effort to push to the east or west. Not as yet in any case.
