Manticorres

The Manticorres of the Imperatry Plains are fearsome, solitary predators. Generally the creatures avoid civilized regions, but they are often drawn to goat, sheep, and horse herds in lean seasons. Feline in form, these creatures have powerful claws, and horrific faces. Their fur bunches in great manes around their shoulders, leaving their faces bald, and covered in dark scales. Their terrible visages are drawn back in perpetual, feral snarls, and they have several rows of razor sharp teeth. But even more frightening is the row of venomous quills along the monster's spine. Thankfully the beasts have little interest in landsmen and myrnam√ľn, and so they only trouble herders and those few unfortunates who venture too close to their lairs or young.
