Royal Haedrasia
In the wake of the bloody affair known as the Lausian uprising the Imperators of Haedrasia deemed all possible successors to the Imperator's throne to equally be possible insurgents, and so costly was that period in history that it was deemed to never allow Haedrasia to go to war over succession again. The province of Callius was renamed Royal Haedrasia, and the entirety of the Imperatry House - anyone with even the remotest claim to the throne - were made prisoners in this land, on pain of death, unless they were called to take the Imperator's oaths. Now this opulent prison plays host to these bored lordlings' pet project, the Great Houses, vast trade consortiums that vie ruthlessly against one another, as much for their masters' amusement as any great need.

Lictor-General of Karmina, Harbulus Pelt
The role of Lictor-General of Karmina is surely the most unforgiving in all Haedrasia, for he must, in the name of the Lictor Supreme, keep all of the Great Houses in check, not with force, but with fear. And so, it is no surprise that Harbulus Pelt is the most feared lictor of his age to see out his office in the good graces of the Imperator. A grim man, lean of face, bare of pate, and harder than the mountains, it is not hard to imagine that the seismic stare of his dark eyes alone could flay a man alive. Nor that he has ordered such an act as casually as he might his morning repast. Harbulus does not negotiate. He does not mince words. And he will not be disobeyed. His restraint and self-denial are testament to his inflexibility, and the aura of cool, impersonal threat that pervades his presence testament to what awaits those who test him.
