Geography
Physical Geography
Taal (TARL) is divided between the rolling wooded foothills of the Bosots, and the coastal prairies along the coast of the Inner Sea. In the centre of the domain the land rises up again briefly to form a smaller mountain range that elevates suddenly out of the flat landscape perhaps twenty miles south of where the foothills descend into plains, and descends again as suddenly. These abrupt mountains are known as the Taali Sentinels, and give the land its name. There are a plethora of myths around the sentinels, though no one is sure quite which is true. Some say that they are an ascent used by the divh when they had finished crafting the world, to return to the heavens. Others say that the clay from which the first myrnamün were moulded was gathered here, and still others say that they are the bodies of zmey, turned to stone over the years, forming a massive graveyard for the creatures. Because zmey are known to live - or at least have lived - in the sentinels, few pry to closely to confirm one legend over another.
Political Geography
The nine Satraps of Taal all answer to the Mollah at Sarsis, and his loyal magians oversee rule of Taal as a pantheistic theocracy. The magians recognize many divh, indeed they actively seek out new divh to venerate, because common thinking is that the more divine beings whose favour the land curries, the better their fortunes must be. As a result Taal is a mish-mash of every religion the nearby regions have to offer, barring the worship of Daak, formed into a complex and ambitious temple that also rules over the state.
Social Geography
Fellers form the vast majority of Taal's population, and while Taal differs from the Goblynfells themselves quite dramatically on a political level, society here is relatively similar.

Maya the Manticorre
Easily the most famous and intriguing resident of Taal is Maya the Manticorre. If she had another name it has been long forgotten. The head of one of the most influential cults of the region, Maya's reputation is not for the considerable influence she wields in Taal, both through her followers and the Mollah himself, but for her more worldly attributes. Known as the greatest beauty of her age, Maya is truly radiant, and to gaze upon her face is to see perfection in Vashri features, but Maya has few suitors, because of the other, equally famous aspect of her physical appearance. From her elegant waist down, Maya does not have the legs of a goblyn, but the body of a manticorre. Long, slender body, four legs ending in clawed paws, golden fur and a powerful barbed tail, her goblyn torso sprouts from the neck of the powerful beast. Maya claims that her feline lower half is a blessing from the divh, but others whisper that it is a curse bestowed upon her for some dire and secret misdeed in her past.
