Westbridge

The new centre of the faith of Rallah in Tohl has been established in Westbridge, though it is far eclipsed by Tohl Dannis and its grand new temple. Westbridge is named for what is possibly the grandest of the bridges over the Silver River; standing a full four stories above the water the bridge is careful to obscure the polluted brown water from passers by. The bridge is a popular market site, and many shops are built along either side. However the population of Westbridge is largely low level bureaucrats, scribes and scholars in the service of the temple.

The Temple of Light is the largest in the city and serves as the host for all of the religious services and observances for the citizens of Tohl, and the temple is surrounded by a large plaza that can accommodate many times the number who can cram into the temple itself.

Despite the presence of this important institution the district as a whole, thanks to the influence of Ravvh and Old Man's Crook in the north, has a large poor element, and there are some streets locals simply don't go down, especially in the warren of alleys between Barrows Street and the wall, where the streets are as rough and dangerous as any in the Crook to the north. Buildings are generally chaotic, and while the red brick of the rest of the city remains here, they are a chaotic mix of old and new structures, with some of the old having had holes blatantly punched through them and filled with new structures. Scaffolds are just as common as bridges and skywalks here, supporting temporary ladders and stairs.

The district is split between Houses Voernal, Cavish, Kevvh and Lerent with the House Lerent and Verne gangs warring for territory, especially around the bridge. Inhabitants range from some streets of new structures filled with temple scribes and clerks, to streets a block away where ramshackle buildings house multiple families of dock hands and day labourers, to streets completely controlled by gangs, filled with crumbling buildings and drunkenness. Most of the population is landsmen, with scattered communities of Ghans, Haedrasians and Southlanders clustered here and there, but with few resident myr, though they are a common sight on the streets.

Notable Groups and Individuals

Tristen
The local watch captain is Tristen, a lifelong watchman with a glowing record who has been lumbered with the task of merging the new population of Westbridge with the old.

Alana
The lock keeper is a woman called Alana, whose family has been running a dry dock in Westbridge for generations. Aegvar the northerner runs the Artisans Hall, and is currently being investigated under suspicion of running a cabal.

Falco Coldsteel
A former questing knight of some note, Falco has retired here after losing the use of his sword arm. He does offer what is possibly some of the finest martial instruction available to the public, but is very choosy about students and extremely pricey.
